5. Likely Add More

In many instances, you need to add mayonnaise, ketchup, and/or more sweet pickle relish. The reason is people have different tastes for 1000 Island. In the picture on the right, I'm adding more ketchup to make the color more brownish tan and to remove the mayonnaise smell. Stir again.

The 1000 island dressing is ready to serve. Try for a medium brownish tan and light orange blend similar to the 1000 island dressing in food markets. Common tip: if the dressing is too thin or watery, add mayonnaise and stir.
